Arkema Malaysia Thiochemicals, Arkema’s subsidiary in Malaysia, and the Monash University Malaysia (MUM) in Kuala Lumpur have signed a research partnership over 3 years of collaboration during which time MUM researchers will be able to make their resources available to the local Arkema teams. The goal: to develop more efficient biocatalysts for Arkema’s Thiochemicals business.
Arkema will have a strong presence at the 2018 NPE International Plastics Expo in Orlando, FL, next month (exhibit space South-34146), featuring products from several business units that serve the broad plastics marketplace. The product portfolio will range from new offerings in thermoplastic elastomers, PVDF resins, acrylic resin and sheet, bio-sourced solutions, new high performing thermoplastic resins, soybean-based plasticizers, and high performing impact modifiers and compatibilizers for nylons and polyesters.
The new PEKK and PVDF filaments are designed for 3D printing of highly technical parts requiring extreme performance. Properties include resistance to high temperatures and harsh chemicals, and outstanding flame and smoke properties.
During the last International Conference on Printed Electronics (Lopec) in Munich, Piezotech® (Arkema) and PmTU Chemnitz (Germany) won the Organic-Electronic Association Public Award for their development of "T-Book".
